Although there are many good stories of churches attracting and impacting young people, the national trend suggests that increasing numbers of this generation are disconnecting from church. It is our desire to inspire, shape and prepare Christians to engage with both the challenges and opportunities this creates.
The Youth Ministry Track is a partnership between Serious4God and Regents Theological College, designed to launch people into ministry with young people.
Along with Track Leader Tim Alford residential faculty member Michael Edwards, a gifted team of lecturers, practitioners and experts are utilised to provide the teaching, mentoring and experiential learning.
The Youth Track aims to (1) enhance biblical/theological knowledge of the students, (2) enable them to practically minister in a youth specific context, and (3) ground these from an increasingly developing walk with God.
Rev. Tim Alford
Tim lives in Malvern with his wife Jen and his son Tobijah. He is the National Director of Serious4God, the youth movement of Elim Pentecostal Churches in the UK and Ireland. He is a passionate communicator of the gospel, having spoken at churches, conferences, schools and events all over the world. Tim is the former frontman of [dweeb], a frustrated supporter of Arsenal, and has on more than one occasion been to the cinema in Star Wars fancy dress.
Michael 'Eddy' Edwards
Michael (or ‘Eddy’), finished his BA (Hons) at Regents in May 2013, and is an MIT at Resonate Elim, a pioneer church for young people. He is currently studying for his MA in Pentecostal-Charismatic issues, and is passionate about wrestling with some of the more complex areas of theology and how they affect Pentecostal youth ministry practice with both Christian & non-Christian young people. He’s a Manchester United season ticket holder, a die-hard Whovian (Eccleston) and loves to get back to the North when possible to see his mum, dad, sister and dog Rocky.
