R T Kendall, Colin Dye & David Coffey endorse appointment of College Chancellor

14-Jan-2008

“There are few people I have known in my lifetime that I would regard as truly having the gift of wisdom. I believe Lyndon has it and I myself have been the beneficiary of his wise counsel countless times.

Congratulations to you, Lyndon. A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and yet people in your own nation and denomination have blessed you with a lofty responsibility that suggests you are the exception to the rule. I pray that you will wear this dignity with an ever-increasing quest for a greater anointing of wisdom, humility, love and power. This anointing will come in proportion to your earnest seeking the honour that comes from God only rather than settling for the praise of people.

It is also my prayer that there will be a conscious presence of the Holy Spirit upon Regents as a further sign of God’s approval on this decision. May all of the leadership, students and supporters ever keep your eyes on Jesus, the Holy Scriptures and the need for theological excellence. And yet solid teaching must be matched by a manifest power of the Spirit. Therefore with this vision and experience you will have a vital part in the restoration of the honour of God’s Name in the United Kingdom.”

R. T. Kendall

“Theological training in Ivory Towers disengaged from current political and social life is finished. This is why I am excited about the appointment of Lyndon Bowring as Chancellor to Regents Theological College. Lyndon is a theological practitioner of the first-degree. He is an example to all that have studied the Truth and now want to see it influence the world around them. With his vast experience as an Elim minister and as Executive Chairman of CARE, Lyndon understands more than most how the modern day Christian student must be trained to truly salt his environment with the training he has received. His Chancellorship exhibits Regents Theological College’s ethos of being a centre of training excellence with a view to graduating men and women who will truly change cities and nations for Christ.”

“I doubt whether there is any other Christian leader who has Lyndon’s calling from the Lord, which is the responsibility of pastoring so many national Christian leaders in the United Kingdom. I am one of those privileged national leaders and appreciate more than words can express the care encouragement and wisdom that Lyndon has brought to my life during the past years. He is the pastor to pastors par excellence.

There are numerous public occasions when Lyndon is present in a supporting role whilst one of his many friends in the spotlight of ministry. I am delighted that this is uniquely a day for Lyndon Bowring when the spotlight falls on his gifted life and ministry. He is an anointed preacher who knows he owes everything to his Lord and Master. The theme verse of his life could be ‘Jesus said apart from me you can do nothing’.

The Lord has led Regents College to make a fine choice in their new Chancellor. Lyndon will be a great Ambassador for the college, a wonderful encourager to the leadership and a perfect mentor for those preparing for the lifetime adventure of serving the Lord.”
