Regents Theological College, Nantwich is delighted to announce the appointment of Rev. Lyndon Bowring as its Chancellor.
For more than 80 years, Regents Theological College has been preparing people from all walks of life for Christian service. More than 240 students are presently studying at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for degrees awarded by the University of Wales. Regents Theological College is the official training centre of the Elim Pentecostal Church and welcomes students from a wide section of churches and countries.
Lyndon Bowring was born in South Wales, leaving to study at the London Bible College (now London School of Theology). Lyndon is the Executive Chairman of CARE (Christian Action Research and Education), an organisation, based in London, whose vision is to see greater respect in society for the sanctity and value of human life from fertilisation to its natural end. He has also been a minister for ten years at Kensington Temple, London, (whose congregation is one of the largest in Europe) which is a member of the Elim Pentecostal Church. He is a member of the council of the Evangelical Alliance and is on the board of many Christian organisations, as well as a regular speaker at churches and conferences. Lyndon lives in London with his wife Celia, a writer and speaker and their 3 children.
The Principal of Regents Theological College, Nigel Tween, said, “We are delighted and proud that Lyndon has agreed to serve as our Chancellor. I know of no other Christian leader who so well exemplifies the values that we as a College would seek to instil in our students. Lyndon will be a great example to our students and his on-going involvement and advice will be of enormous significance.”
Dr Keith Warrington, the Vice Principal said, “Regents Theological College is at a very exciting time in its 80 year history as we recently announced we would be moving to the new Elim International Centre which has just been purchased in West Malvern, Worcestershire. The College which is the Elim Church’s national training centre will be re-locating in the summer of 2009 where it will facilitate the preparation of students for effective ministry within the Church and the marketplace in the decades to come in a superb campus.”
