Lyndon Bowring installed as Chancellor at RTC

15-Jan-2008

Regents Theological College has installed Lyndon Bowring as its first Chancellor at a formal ceremony held in the College’s chapel. During the service, Lyndon who is the Executive Chairman of CARE, received his Chancellor’s ceremonial robes from Principal, Nigel Tween, and Vice Principal, Dr Keith Warrington. In attendance were John Glass, General Superintendent of the Elim Churches, and members of Elim’s National Leadership Team. Also present was former Principal Eldin Corsie. The local community was represented by the Mayor of Crewe and Nantwich.

The ceremony was a great occasion, mixing the formality of the instalment ceremony, with powerful worship led by the student worship band and a personal interview with Lyndon which gave students the opportunity to hear about his work with CARE. Following the service, Lyndon and his wife Celia met and chatted with students over coffee.

Commenting on the appointment, College Principal Nigel Tween said “We are delighted that Lyndon has accepted this appointment as Chancellor of Regents. His wisdom and experience will be invaluable as the College continues to grow and as we transition to our new location at the new Elim International Centre in Malvern, Worcestershire in 2009.
