Context Based Learning (full-time)

Students are usually based in an agreed local church context, often working as a Minister in Training (MiT), paid youth worker, intern or volunteer for up to 15 hours a week. They are also full-time students of Regents Theological College, studying from their home setting for the remainder of the week. Students study 6 modules a year in five week blocks. They visit the College campus in Malvern for 4 consecutive days at the start of the five week block for the face-to-face module lectures. They then return to their home setting to do more research and reading around that module, supported by tutorials and online seminars, before submitting the assessment for that module. Context based student’s gain valuable experiential learning in being able to directly apply the practical aspects of their studies with involvement in their church or workplace as they progress, as well as bringing practice based questions and reflections into the lecture room.
