Postgraduate Courses

Meet Dr. Martin Clay,
Dean of Postgraduate Studies

Faithful Christian witness in the philosophically, ethically, and technologically complex cultures of late modernity, places enormous demands on Christians – both professionally and personally. Pentecostal and Charismatic believers are therefore increasingly aware of the need for serious biblical, theological, historical and pastoral reflection, to enhance both the depth and maturity of their ministries. Learning to think theologically is an essential pre-requisite for engaging in Christian ministry in ways that are both highly innovative and deeply faithful. Whatever your primary vocational context – church leadership, education, or the many other sectors – Regents offers postgraduate courses that will enhance and profoundly develop your ministry.

The academic staff at Regents Theological College include specialists in Biblical Theology, Systematic Theology, Pentecostal-Charismatic Studies, Church Leadership, and Christian Discipleship. Teachers of our practical modules are themselves current practitioners in Christian ministry, drawing from their personal experiences to deepen the relevance of the teaching material. Many of the teaching staff are also well-known as speakers and lecturers both in the UK and internationally.

Students at Regents include a wide range of Christian workers and believers. Many are Pentecostal church leaders from long-standing denominations and independent ministries; others are involved in para-church ministry, whilst some study simply for their personal development. The gender, ethnic, generational, and professional diversity of participants, enhances the whole postgraduate body, with students benefiting from both the practical and academic insights shared by their study peers, as well as those offered by the teaching staff.

Regents Theological College is an approved academic partner of the University of Chester and offers the following programmes:

Postgraduate students usually live in their home environments and travel the Malvern campus for the delivery of the modules. Each module runs as a classroom experience over a single week supported by online sessions before and afterwards. Students coming to our Malvern campus can book into our Conference Centre (at preferential rates) for any days when they are on campus, with a choice of B&B or full catering options in the College dining room.

Whilst on campus, postgraduate students can fully engage with all the activities that the undergraduate campus-based students and residential postgraduate students enjoy. Postgraduate students are also always able to access the library facilities which are open 24/7 and encouraged to make day visits to campus, or book themselves into the Conference Centre for residential short study breaks outside of timetabled module days, if they wish to do so.

All our postgraduate programmes are taught face-to-face, and we do not offer them as purely online courses. Being part of the active Regents community and its campus is important to us as it enhances spiritual and academic formation, and the College goal of sharing our discipleship journey together.
