About the Course
The Ministry Foundation Certificate (MFC) is a Regents Theological College validated course and is one of the ways you can complete the requirement for theological studies if you are thinking of applying for the Elim Ministry.
The MFC provides you with foundational knowledge as you embark on your ministry journey by offering a range of essential modules crafted and designed to give you an understanding of the key areas necessary at the start of your ministry.

Mode of Learning
The Regents course is comprised of 6 modules (4 mandatory and 2 optional) which are delivered through focused teaching weeks on our Malvern campus. The flexible approach to the course allows entry at three different points during the year as you can begin in January, March or October.
The course can be completed over 1 or 2 years.
There are written and practical assessments during the course, with the opportunity to tailor them to your specific context.
Mandatory and Optional Modules
Mandatory modules:
Biblical Interpretation, Evangelism and Apologetics, Introduction to Christian Doctrine, Pentecostal Worship and Practice.
Each mandatory module is assessed with one piece of written work and one practical assignment.
Optional modules:
Preparation for Leadership in Ministry, Church History, Youth Ministry Culture and Context, Pentecostal Theology, Introduction to Practical Theology, Theology in the Public Sphere, The Torah: Theology and Reception, Pastoring and Preaching, Gospel and Acts and Pastoral Care: Theory and Skills.
The calendar for all Ministry Foundation Certificate modules can be found here.

Validation and Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for the MFC, however please note that students are expected to be computer literate as we send all information electronically, and communicate by e-mail. As a Regents Theological College student you will also be expected to submit all assessments electronically. Suitability for the course is ascertained from the completed application form and will be followed up by a telephone conversation with the Course Leader.
Please be aware that while there is no requirement for completion of a self-declaration form or DBS check for the MFC, those students who go on to apply for the Elim Ministry will be required to complete both a self-declaration form and an enhanced DBS check as part of that process.
Awards
Those who successfully complete the course will receive a Regents Theological College certificate.
Whilst successful completion of the course does not guarantee you a place on the Elim Minister in Training Programme (MIT), theological studies are a requirement prior to an application. You can start your application process after successfully completing 2 MFC modules if you have completed the other requirements of the Elim Ministry office including attendance at an “Exploring Elim Ministry” seminar.

For course fees, please visit our college fees page here.
Please note that because the MFC is not a university validated course, it is not possible to apply for student loan funding.
