Bob is the Free Churches Faith Advisor to HM Prison and Probation Service, and is employed by the Free Churches Group to recruit, endorse, train and support all Christian Prison Chaplains who are from the non-established Christian denominations. Part of his role involves working with the Ministry of Justice to ensure that over 220 chaplains from Apostolic, Pentecostal, Methodist, Baptist, and independent churches are all accredited, well equipped, accountable and supported appropriately.
He is also a National Faith advisor, and with his connections with those responsible for Healthcare, Education, and the Armed Services chaplaincy, he can offer a unique and professional perspective into this growing area of ministry.
His other appointments include Chair of the Prisons Week Committee, Vice Chair of the International Prison Chaplains (Europe) Association, and trustee of The Welcome Directory, a charity seeking to help faith communities to become even better at welcoming people who leave prison.
He has been an adjunct lecturer at Regents since 2014, delivering the postgraduate chaplaincy module.
When not working in prison (which he has been for over 27 years) you will find him in the mountains pursuing his passion of rock climbing, where he is a qualified Mountain Leader and Rock-Climbing Instructor.
