Why Regents
“Regents was never actually my life plan. I grew up wanting to be a midwife, but God intervened. Several people had already mentioned ‘why don’t you go to Bible college?’ I gave the typical ‘ums’ and ‘ahs’ but thought I would speak to my Pastor about it. She advised me to attend a Regents open day, and to ask God to make it clear if it was for me. I went, and man I just fell in love with the place. Before I knew it, I was an undergraduate student, living on campus, and studying applied theology with youth ministry.”
My time at Regents
“I have memories that will stay with me forever: bonfire nights in the grounds, Encounter worship nights, trips to events and conferences where we all served together. I cherish how God developed my understanding of the Bible and deepened my theology. I remember lecturers that brought the Bible alive, emotionally, spiritually, and theologically. I loved the social, spiritual, and educational balance; growing in my spiritual giftings, through times of devotion, times of study, and times of prayer.”
What was next
“Regents really has prepared me for my role at Elim Life Church in Birmingham; lectures that gave me new ideas about theology and youth ministry, and the way that I was also able to put everything I was learning into practice through specific placements. I also branched out by making new friends, getting to know other youth workers and pastors who had been through the same processes, and gave me great advice for what I wanted to achieve.”
Where am I now
“I graduated from Regents Theological College in 2019 with a BA (Hons) in Applied Theology with Youth Ministry, and I am now the Youth and Young Adults Pastor at Elim Life Church in Birmingham. I oversee our youth ministry with young people aged 11 to 18, and also our young adult’s ministry for 18 to 30 year olds.”
